Karl began following Christ in college after attending a Rock small group. Just a few months later, a young, attractive woman named Maren got saved and immediately joined the small group Karl was a member of. Despite a mutual appreciation and friendship throughout college, neither Karl nor Maren held any romantic interest in the other until five years later. Karl and Maren have been married 10 years and have two daughters, two sons, and no dogs.
Other than his family, Karl's great love is pastoring, which a particular devotion to college students since it was in college that God go ahold of Karl's life.
Ryan earned an Electrical Engineering degree from SDSU in 1997 and began his career at 3M. Ryan first visited Evergreen in 1998 and joined his first small group. He was so overwhelmed by the love and grace of the people in that group that he accepted Christ right then. He was so excited he went home and called his girlfriend, Laura, to tell her about it. She joined the group the very next week. This group helped start The Rock in 1999.
Since being ordained as a pastor in 2009, Ryan's roles haven't changed much and he still works full time at 3M.He is currently a House Church leader, location budget leader and is involved with the launch of the Rock Teen Group.
Ryan married Laura in 2002. They have five children, Josh, Jakin, Jude, Grace, and Rebekah.
Lucas has been a member of the Rock since 2003 when he began attending the University of Minnesota in pursuit of his undergraduate degree. Over the years, he has been involved with the music ministry, leading small groups, and currently leads the Minneapolis House Church. In March of 2018, he was officially recognized as a pastor. In this role, he will serve the church through teaching and supporting the music ministry. Lucas has been married to his beautiful bride, Stephanie, for the last 11 years. Together they are raising three amazing boys, Beckett, Brody, and Blaine.
