One Small Thing

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
2 Corinthians 9:6

Last Friday I shared about how small acts can have a big impact. I shared from a poem called “The Planting of the Apple Tree”, by William Cullen Bryant, which ponders all the benefits that come from the planting of a small apple seed – birds have a place to nest and sing, it’s a shelter from the rain and sun, and of course apples!
One small thing that had a big impact on me when I was in college, was having another family from the Rock invite me over for dinner. It was so special to be around a family, to eat a delicious home-cooked meal, and then to be sent home with delicious leftovers! It was a small thing, but it communicated friendship and it just felt good to be around a family seeking to honor God.
What small thing could you do this week for someone else? It’s possible that they will remember that act many years into the future.
