Endurance and patience
For the past two months, Luke and Ryan and I have been praying on Wednesday mornings on the phone. This is the verse that I shared with them this morning:
Colossians 1:9-11 We ask God to give you a complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while you will learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need.
I was telling Luke and Ryan this morning that those two words – endurance and patience – are what really stuck out to me. As many of you know, Mark has been on a leave of absence for the past 4 months or so. That has required a tremendous amount of endurance and patience for all of us.
The great promise in this passage is that the endurance and patience that we need to face life’s challenges and life’s circumstances come not from within ourselves but from God’s glorious power.
I wanted to ask you all to please pray this week for God to give each person in our church his supernatural endurance and patience.
